Terry Dunn -  Color Work

Thinking of Colouring your hair ?
The most important step is finding a salon who specialises in Color research the salon and their qualifications and work . Try to find out if you can speak to people who have been there before and then when you have exhausted all research and are content with your findings go ahead and book your appointment .

The most amazing thing about changing your hair color is,  if the service is done properly it can be the most beautiful confidence boosting asset that any salon can offer and any client can feel .

However going for a massive change can also be an extremely scary experience if you haven't researched and done your homework about the salon you are going to visit .
Colouring hair is now more an Art and the stylist who is about to carry out the work must be an artist of the highest degree
 .
When looking for a salon to complete this work I would advise everyone to go along for a consultation visit first , chat to your colorist and find out if she really does have what it takes to be honoured with this amazing opportunity .
If you are looking to be transformed into a beautiful butterfly or just to change your color slightly approach them both in the very same manner .

The knowledge and skills needed for todays colouring work is huge and this must be combined with patience, passion and an understanding of the Chemistry behind the process for it to be a huge success .

ATTENTION ALL MY BEAUTIFUL HAIRDRESSING BUDDIES WE ARE SHARING THE LOVE
Most color technicians goals would be to get the color "on point" However mines ? To find the perfect balance between Happy Hair Happy Client Happy Scalp .
It is NOT abnormal for the client to feel mild to moderate irritation during color processes and great care is now taken by the manufacturers of many products to try to eliminate this completely BUT sadly skin conditions like Psoriasis & Eczema flare ups can add to an already tender process even certain times in the month for females can also determine if the service will be enjoyed or endured (that old chestnut again) lol
For quite some time i been trying out products from different companies and giving reviews to help us all make life a little bit more comfortable for our clients . Up until NOW i been struggling to find 1 that eliminates ALL problems associated with the Scalp .
Sooooooo why is it painful ?
Color Services - Applying chemicals to the hair to break down the protein bonds which will gently raise the cuticle & allow color pigment to pass through into the hair shaft. Since color can break down hair, it can also start to break down skin,as both are made from Keratin .
The Answer ?
SWEET"N"LOW - IT ACTUAL WORKS EVERY TIME
Cream of tartar, AKA potassium bitartrate, is one of the ingredients in Sweet'N Low.
It has a low pH buffer, while saccharin another main ingredient in it also has an acidic pH. Because of these properties, it is believed that the addition of artificial sweeteners helps neutralize some of the ammonia used in hair color and mitigate irritation."
With NO color loss or change to the color lift in the process.
The secret is to add to your color and process as normal so far we have had a massive improvement in clients comfort and as yet the girls who normally have dry fake scalp after processing have stated its a complete success ........... lets hope its a winner with everyone . :-)
I will keep you posted "SWEET"

Paradox of Time .........

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
SAW THIS AND THOUGHT WOW THIS IS AMAZING .... T x

"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

And always remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away."
